Des Moines Catholic Worker seeks two live in community members

"Timing Is Every Thing," as the old saying goes and right now the Des Moines Catholic Worker could use two new community members.

Our primary work consist of maintaining a five-day-a-week daytime hospitality space for hundred to hundred fifty people.

Prospective new community members are expected to be primarily focused on helping to maintain the daytime hospitality, attend regular community meetings, be open to living within a community that lives simply and nonviolently, are active nonviolent resisters to injustice and war and follow the faith-based tradition of the Catholic Worker movement. You need not be Catholic or even Christian to be a community member. Live-in community members are given free room and board. Prospective new community members may need to find part-time jobs to
meet their personal cash needs, and all community members take care of their own health care needs.
